In February 2019 our Stone Slinging team was asked to backfill a large biofilter at Oran Park NSW .
The basin was too large for conventional methods which would have risked the pipes and liner and taken much more time. This type of project is a perfect application for our stone slingers.
Our client also wanted the hydro-conductivity of the biofilter to be maximised which was achieved through keeping compaction of the bio media to a minimum. The Stone Slinger methodology meant that no heavy vehicles needed to drive in the basin until the final smoothing was needed.
We placed 2500 tonnes in 3 days.
